Every year in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas hundreds of animals and birds are injured or sick due to man's interference. From road accidents to strimmers; pesticides and weed killers to chopping down trees and bushes.
Our changing climate has encouraged hedgehogs to give birth to two sets of babies a year so we have to over winter the autumn hoglets.
Virtually every other household has a cat and cats kill or maim untold numbers of birds, reptiles and small mammals - we deal with hundreds of cat attack victims every year.
We use homeopathic medicines when possible but recognise that conventional drug treatments are also necessary. We are open 24 hours a day and never turn wildlife away. If we cannot deal with it, we transfer it to St Tiggywinkles or another centre.
We do not keep wildlife long term; if it cannot be released back to the wild, we search for a suitable sanctuary for it.
